Inspiration has struck!

I know I'm a not-so-simple scrapbooker.

I have a lot of trouble balancing the pages I do. Is one page "heavier" than the other? Did I make the transition from one page to the other properly.? Do I like it?

I'm my own worst critic, but I'm picky, lol.

Anyway, I've been working hard...and I'm STILL waiting for my pictures to arrive! Geesh! How long does it take to get 60 pics???

I've been working hard these days.

I used lots of different product on this page, the paper is On The Dot, the lemonade & blue jeans line. I fell in love with it the first time I saw it. The paper is double sided which is an added bonus! The iridescent flowers are by Creative Impressions, the large size. I don't remember the name of the company that makes the brads, sorry.

I'm also playing catch up with Mia's birthday and other holidays that have happened this year.

St. Patrick's Day and St. Joseph's Day are huge festivals down here. And since the dates are 2 days apart, a lot of the celebrations are combined. The Irish/Italian parade is so much fun --- and we enjoyed it as usual.

The paper is a combination of Reminisce's, a little of this year's collection and last...but the colors are the same and I think it looks great. The shamrock brads are Queen & Co. and the embellishments were from 2 different groupings from Jolee's Boutique.

I have a lot more to post, but I have to still take pictures. I'll get them on here as soon as I get a few things done around the house, and if Mia will cooperate, lol.

Talk about frustrating...

I've been watching the Make A Card Monday demos from KWerner's Design Blog for several months now. I've directed all my friends to her blog. I love it!

Of late, she's been doing these color inspirations using pictures from catalogs and magazines, giving out a color palette.

Well, I didn't have the 4th color...shoot! I had the Pumpkin Pie, So Saffron and Wild Wasabi, but I didn't have the Sahara Sand. So I substituted Very Vanilla and I still like it. And I like my card. Isn't that what it's all about?

I've been workin'...

I don't know what's been going on with me lately. I've been working hard the past few days on various scrapbook pages. I'm not normally this productive, considering my hectic, busy life. Kids to work, a granddaughter to watch and take care of (not to mention play with and enjoy), a husband that doesn't realize his limitations...shall I go on?

Maybe it's because the star of my latest pages has been Mia, my 2 year old granddaughter. She's the light of my life and I love being with her. Anyway, she must be my inspiration.

She's my goofy girl!

Just so you know, the paper I used is from Best Creation, Inc. Their paper is so pretty! Not too much glitter either, which is good, since I'm not a huge fan of it.

I'll take a few more pictures of the pages I've been working on all weekend. Tell me what you think!

Birthday cards...

I don't know about ya'll, but I always like to keep a stack of birthday cards on hand. It's just one of those things that I'm anal about, lol.

Anyway, I was on SplitCoastStampers website (which I do belong to) digging for ideas when I came across the instructions for this great card. I made a few and wow was it easy. I could even see it as a brithday party invitation.

I love it!

Longtime, No post...

Life has been interesting lately. The economy here sucked big time BEFORE Katrina hit and now it's worse. I don't know how much longer people here can hang on.

Anyway, I've been working on projects...cards, scrapbook pages, organizing my stuff, getting rid of stuff I don't need or want (also all that stuff I'll never use). I've made a little headway, but there's so much! I have always known I'm a hoarder, keeper, saver, but geesh! I didn't realize just how bad I really was til I started cleaning out.

I did do a little work for Easter --- I made a page but I refuse to pick pictures on it just yet. I'm not sure I like it, lol! What else is new????

I did find a wonderful blog that shows different uses for Quickutz dies (and I have them all) so I decided to try to copy them. Please check out this blog, it's wonderful!

Here's what I did :)

I'd add some ribbon, but I can't figure out where to put it, lol.

I'd do a little stamping, but I don't know which ones to use, lol.

I'd add some flowers, but where to put them? ROFL!

If you have a comment or suggestion, just let me know. I have considered taking it apart and starting over, but I'm not sure I'd like that.

I know, I know, I know...

A blog is for telling ya'll what I'm doing...how I'm doing...who I'm?!?!?!?! ROFL!

My days have been very crazy.

I got sick, the flu I guess, right after the first of the year. And when I say I was sick, I was DOWN for 2 weeks! Started feeling better, then wham! I got a relapse! Miserable is what I was. Now I'm feeling so much better (thank goodness, the pity parties were getting old) and I'm getting back to normal.

I've lead a pretty busy life for the last 2+ years. In the last few months, there was Christmas, New Year's, Hallie's birthday, MARDI GRAS WAS CRAZY EARLY THIS YEAR, Scrapfest (our local convention), and Bonnie's birthday.

It's getting busier now that Mia is 2. She's the light of my life and keeps me entertained and happy. Her birthday party is tomorrow, and I have a "circus tent" cake to bake today.

I haven't had much time to crop, create or do much of anything else. I will post a few pictures of what I have done...things I'm happy with, lol.

Wish me luck!

Something new...

Going along with the idea of New Year's resolutions, I've decided to learn more (and use) about stamping. It's a technique that has interested me and boggled my mind on more than one occasion.

So along with my normal resolutions (cursing less, eating healthier, quitting smoking, getting more organized) I'm adding learning new techniques to enhance my scrapbook pages. Let's see if I keep my resolutions this year.
